As they promised a few months back, the developers from Electronic Arts have introduced a free update to The Sims 4, unlocking over a hundred new skin tones for the characters! Every skin tone now has a value slider, unlocking a much wider variety of customization options for Simmers to play with. In addition, the team made improvements to both new and existing skin tones, including strengthening the quality of suntans and sunburns.
It’s here – and a day early! Today, a free game update brings you 100+ skin tones, customization tools for skin tones and makeup, three improved base game hairstyles, and a main menu makeover. Available now to all The Sims 4 players! pic.twitter.com/p7QIIkI74d

Sliders are also available when choosing a sim’s makeup: hue, saturation, value or brightness, and opacity are now available to be modified. In addition to the customization opportunities provided, you can also save custom swatches as you tweak your sliders to get the perfect look. When you click on the swatch (for skin tones and makeup) as you modify the sliders, you will have an opportunity to save your custom settings, so you can re-use it later without having to remember your perfect looks!
We’ve also improved three base game hairstyles, two children’s hairstyles – the braided ponytail with baby hairs and the braided ponytail without baby hairs – and the flat-top texture hairstyle. Still, we’re excited for what’s to come as these three are just the start!
