Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has confirmed that players have completed Operation Swift Disassembly, but have they won the war?
Wildly successful team co-op shooter Helldivers 2 just reached a massive milestone. After throwing innumerable meat sacks into the grinder, Managed Democracy has won the day. Developer Arrowhead confirmed that the push to quell a onslaught of metal defiance was overcome on Sunday, with all threats to Super Earth now contained or crushed.
You did it, Helldivers. Operation Swift Disassembly was a success! With the bots eradicated and bugs contained, the galaxy is free once more. pic.twitter.com/W7GolbDmHW

In the kind of dramatic tale that regularly comes out of EvE, players picking up their weapon of choice and attacking the gruesome forces of the Terminids were recently redirected to take on a rising tide of chrome plated resistance. This threat to ‘freedom’ came in the form of another enemy faction, the Automatons. After freeing several key locations from the bots, players made a final push to flush out the metal adversaries on Friday. Attacking the holdout planets of Maia, Durgen, and Tibit, the survivors from Super Earth came out as heroes.
Completed It?
The short but sweet communication to Helldivers on social media seems to suggest that the war is won. The push of humans out into this virtual war means that keyboard warriors can put down their Hellbombs. However, that might be premature. GM Joel, the name of a mysterious force in this online adventure, has a habit of dropping incredible twists on plays, adjusting difficulty, or just upturning the decks. We still haven’t seen an inkling of rumoured third faction, the Illuminate, a foe that was last seen in the original helldivers. If you’re expecting to spend the afternoon cutting your lawn to a government mandated length, don’t count on it.
Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the popular top-down twin-stick shooter game that blends cooperative gameplay with strategic elements. It unfolds in a dystopian future where players take on the role of elite soldiers known as Helldivers, fighting against alien forces to protect humanity. Mixing satirical elements that riff on Paul Verhoeven classics like Starship Troopers, ridiculous action, and even more silly explosions turned this into a massive hit when it launched across PlayStation, Xbox Series S\X , and PC earlier this year. If you want an opportunity to maintain humanity then this moment of peace might be a perfect time to check out our review or head to the official website and sign up.
