Gun Interactive has released an awesome new behind-the-scenes trailer for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a forthcoming game based on the movie franchise. Horror fans will be interested to see how movement is captured to recreate iconic scenes from the 1974 film.
The trailer was recorded at The House of Moves in Los Angeles. Horror fans are offered a “fascinating window” into how mo-cap works. Choreography and the need for physical performance are front and center to showcase how developers animate character movements. Fans will appreciate developer insight about the action they’re viewing onscreen. Horror aficionados will recognize horror icon Kane Hodder as he offers his thoughts on the process.
In addition to a peek behind the development curtain, developers also announced the release of “Tragic,” the latest track from the Remains companion album.
In a post on the Gun Interactive Community Hub page from last fall, Matt Szep writes that “track over track, Remains tells a story, creatively, of a move forced by modernization, into a place much darker and desperate.” Utilizing everything from guitar and drums to the Apprehension Engine, Remains weaves a tale of dark abstraction and the unstoppable march of time.
The game is being prepared for a 2023 launch. Players can look forward to trying their hand at gruesome horror once the game launches. Eager fans will be able to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
