April 19th

Portal 2 released this week in Gaming History.

  • 2011 Electronic Arts releases the Portal 2 video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the US.
  • 2005 Psychonauts – Windows version released. (United States)
  • 2002 US District Judge Stephen Limbaugh rejects a request against a St. Louis ordinance of 2000 limiting access of minors to video game arcades. The judge rules that video games are not protected by freedom of speech.
  • 2001 X-COM: Enforcer – Windows version released. (United States)
  • 1976 Super Star Trek12K version – Altair 8800 version released. (United States)

April 20th

WWE 21 released this week in Gaming History.

  • 2009 Dr. Mario Express – Nintendo DSi version released. (United States)
  • 2005 WWE WrestleMania 21 – Xbox version released. (United States)
  • 2001 Spider-Man – Dreamcast version released. (United States)
  • 1989 Star Command – PC-98 version released. (Japan)
  • 1982 Gabriel Industries, a division of CBS/Columbia, announces a four-year agreement with Bally Manufacturing to market home video game versions of Bally arcade games.

April 21st

  • 2012 Aion PC Games 05/2012 Covermount – Windows version released. (Germany)
  • 2009 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 – PlayStation 3 version released. (United States)
  • 2005 Nintendo releases the Nintendo DS handheld video game system in Japan in two new case colors: Turquoise Black and Candy Pink
  • 2000  SonicTeam is founded in Tokyo, Japan.
  • 1984 VS. Duck Hunt – NES version released. (Japan)

  • 2008  Square Enix releases The World Ends With You  video game for the Nintendo DS in the USA.
  • 2002 Nintendo announces that the launch price for the GameCube in the United Kingdom will be 129 pounds.
  • 1997 Fallout (Demo Version) – Macintosh and Windows versions released. (Worldwide)
  • 1994 Ghouls ‘N Ghosts – Sharp X68000 version released. (Japan)
  • 1982 The Quaker Oats Company announces it has acquired the home video game assets of U.S. Games Corporation.
