THQ Nordic has finalized the deal to acquire the rights for Kingdoms of Amalur and the related property from 38 Studios. There is currently no word if or when THQ Nordic will work on Amalur projects and what those projects might look like: remake, a sequel or something entirely new set within the same universe.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a game developed for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 by 38 Studios and published by Electronic Arts in 2012. The project hails from a group of very well-known creators: R.A. Salvatore. Todd McFarlane, Ken Rolston and others. The events of the game take place in a massive open world. Players complimented intense action combat and deep customization of classes.
Unfortunately, despite the warm welcome, the game did not set nearly enough copies to pull 38 Studios from the financial debt.
