Handygames and THQ have announced that Wreckfest Mobile is set to race onto iOS and Android screens soon. During a recent THQ Digital Showcase, the team behind this destructive racing series confirmed that the big screen gas guzzler is set to bring its established carnage to on the go gamers. Players looking to trade in their PC and console racers for something a little more compact can get a glimpse of a new teaser trailer too.
The 96 seconds of clashing metal mayhem, above, was revealed alongside the mobile news and gives players a look at the in game graphics that they can expect, while a number of tracks pass by in the background. While there might not be much ray tracing or 4k textures littered around these tracks, the in game footage shows off a range of venues, from dedicated racing tracks to dusty desert backdrops. Tons of cars still litter the mix and some of the more unusual options look like they will still be in place. So, motorized couches are an option it seems.
Wreckfest first dropped onto PC and consoles across 2018 and 2019, with some stalls along the way, where it proceeded to drive headlong onto a high score in our Wreckfest review. it also became something of a successor to Destruction Derby, Flatout, and more. It twisted together epic crashes and neck-to-neck fights over the finish line, while introducing solid driving dynamics, multiplayer mayhem, and in-depth vehicle upgrading along the way. Now, after pulling up on Nintendo Switch, it seems that all of this is set to continue on our phones. There isn’t a whole lot more on Wreckfest Mobile, but the best place to keep an eye on is the official website, while you prepare your old clanger for some action.
