Timberborn Is A Dam Game with Beavers

Yep, Timberborn is another dam game with a twist: Rather than a 2-legged engineering genius, players take on the role of a four-legged engineering genius in the form of a dam-building beaver. The game provides players with a unique twist on the city-building genre as they work to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. They’re tasked with keeping resources flowing so none die of starvation or thirst.

To showcase the game coming to Steam early access in early 2021, developer Mechanistry has released a demo to give players a chance to see what the game is all about. The goal of the demo is to survive a cycle of two deadly droughts by irrigating, putting up dams, terraforming, create stackable buildings, and keep everyone in the colony happy. The demo is live from now through Tuesday, February 16th.

Features of the full game include:

  • Wet and dry seasons
  • River control
  • “Lumberpunk”
  • Vertical architecture
  • Day/night cycle
  • Well-being of the colony
  • Beaver societies
  • Map editor

Check out the free demo on the Timberborn Steam page.
