Toei Animation is brining its first indie title to Tokyo Game Show, the horrific NOROI KAGO: the Grudged Domain.
Forget the magical girls and adventurous pirates, publisher Toei Animation is about to bring something scary to Tokyo Game Show. Plunging visitors into an oppressive atmosphere full of powerful yokai, this new indie title brings a unique take on co-operative survival to screens.
Channelling a long history of Japanese horror, the upcoming scarcest is a co-op horror experience that is filled with a specific take on malicious supernatural entities. After being trapped in an enclosed space, terrified visitors must outwit and evade yokai. These beings that stem out of local folklore are depicted using a unique art style that plays with light and shadow. Using occasional brushes of color against a dank looking backdrop, as you use your wits and a few scattered gimmicks to get out alive. Don’t assume its that simple, however. Players might end up being inflicted by a curse that eventually turns them into a half demon, so getting out quick is key.
You can see more about NOROI KAGO: the Grudged Domain at Tokyo game Show or head to the official Steam Store page if you’re still busy mastering your Japanese before next year’s event.
