Torchlight Frontiers won’t be out in 2019 after all

Torchlight Frontiers

To the disappointment of many Torchlight fans, Echtra Games founder Max Schaefer has announced that its open-world multiplayer game, Torchlight Frontiers, will not be coming in 2019 as originally planned.

The comments were made during this past weekend’s Path of Exile “ExileCon” convention in New Zealand. Schaefer said, “The 2019 time frame…was indicated 2 1/2 years ago. We have not updated that yet which we probably should. But we don’t have really specific things to say.”

Most notably, Schaefer said that changes to the game are hard to pin down and that there is little to no information to give yet. The team is hard at work on the game and Schaefer said that “it’s getting better every day”. The developers’ enthusiasm remains high and they’re “really excited” about what they’re working on in preparation for “another big news dump”.

Frontiers was first announced in August 2018 and has been in alpha testing since then.
