Tormented Souls is about to bring back classic horror as Winterlake opens its doors to new patients on Xbox One and Playstation 4 today.
After initially terrorizing players on PC back in August 2021, Tormented Souls is bringing classic horror tropes back to modern console platforms. Today, PQube, Dual Effect, and Abstract Digital Works are excited to release ‘Tormented Souls’ on PlayStation 4 & Xbox One. Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S|X can already drag the fixed perspective of this nightmarish institution even further into the future, while Nintendo Switch owners will also be left quivering at the thought of heading to the GP later this year.
Players who didn’t check our glowing review of Tormented Souls on PC will need to prepare themselves for a shock. Taking the role of Caroline Walker, you’ll follow the trail of two missing girls. As you get close to recovering these lost souls, you’ll come across Winterlake Hospital, an abandoned mansion turned into a hospital. This all turns distinctly Silent Hill, as inhuman atrocities lie in wait.
Tormented Souls takes inspiration from 90s horror games and returns to a fixed perspective, close quarters encounters, and cramped corridors. You’ll need to fight think and craft your way out of a nerve jangling set of experiences, so be ready to run. To get an idea of what lies behind the next door, take a glimpse at the trailer and head over to the Xbox or PlayStation Stores today as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions unlock.
