TRIBES 3: Rivals PC Early Access to Begin Next Week

Fans of old-school shooters and the beloved TRIBES series will be thrilled to hear that TRIBES 3 is headed to Steam early access on March 12, 2024. Prophecy Games announced PC early via the game’s Steam page with a lengthy discussion of what makes it unique, how players can get involved, and what features they can expect. In addition, the team pushed out a handy FAQ that should answer anyone’s most pressing questions.

However, the most exciting thing to come out of the big announcement is a great new gameplay trailer that should entice any fan of first-person shooters to look more closely at the game.

According to the dev team, there are more than a few things that make TRIBES 3 unique in today’s shooter genre.

Unique features (according to devs)

  • Dynamic Movement: Jetpack flight and skiing allow unparalleled freedom and fluidity in movement across the battlefield.
  • Capture the Flag: The game’s core lies in its intense team-based capture-the-flag mode, demanding individual skill and strategic team play.
  • Stunning Environments: Navigate beautiful and complex maps from arid deserts to icy mountains, each designed to offer a different gameplay experience.
  • Loadout Customization: Tailor your character with various weapons, skins, perks, and abilities, offering endless ways to compete and strategize.
  • Class-Based Gameplay: Light, medium, and heavy classes allow you to play your way. Light classes excel in speed, medium classes offer mobility and firepower, and heavy classes bring formidable armor and weapons to the fray.
  • Custom Matches and Modes:  Users can create custom matches with different team sizes, physics, maps, and more.
  • Community-Focused Development: The game is crafted with input from the TRIBES community, ensuring an experience that honors the series’ legacy while introducing fresh elements to keep gameplay exciting and engaging.

There are plans to bring the game to console platforms. That announcement, however, will be coming at a later date. For now, the game is only available for PC via Steam.

Those interested in checking out system specs or purchasing a copy of the game ($17.99) can head to its Steam page to learn more.
