This week Twitch announced a new game show “Stream On” that will be all about highlighting up and coming users. March 2018 is slotted for the premier and until then auditions, as well as the show itself – will take place from the streamers home. Reading the FAQ streamers are also being encouraged to keep streaming:
The competition is built to compliment and expand, not replace, your current streaming strategy. However, streamers should keep in mind that participation may require changes and efforts that may conflict with their usual schedule or style, and be willing to invest with flexibility in the competition.
Emphasis on who “Stream On” contestants will be is detailed as Twitch partners right on the cusp of going full time leaving out affiliates and full time thriving partners which I am sure Lirik must be devastated about!
Any partner can audition, but be advised that the selection committee will be more likely to choose smaller partners who they feel can benefit most from the additional exposure that Stream On can offer. LIRIK, if you’re reading this, please don’t apply.
Contestants will face challenges designed to test streamer skills not only under the scrutiny of a panel of judges but also the Twitch chat who will help choose who moves forward and who is eliminated. The winner will win $5,000 per month for a year, totaling $60,000!
