Twitch Partners With 1000 Dream Fund To Support Female BroadcastHers

Funds will be given out for the spring and fall semesters.

The 1000 Dreams Fund (1DF), founded by Christie Garton in 2015 has partnered with Twitch to support female gamers working to turn their streaming hobby into a career marking the first time creator grants are being offered to twitch creators.

1 DF is looking for this criteria:

To be eligible for this grant you must be female and a Twitch Affiliated or Partnered Broadcaster.  Preference will be given to applicants that are currently enrolled high school, a two-year, four-year college/university or graduate school. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Applications must include an essay explaining how the grant would be used. Selection will be based on application contents and financial need.

Ranging from $500 to $2000, approximately 4 grants will be distributed to go toward conference travel, equipment upgrades and workshops. In order to raise money for BroadcastHER grants, Twitch will be hosting month-long Streams for Dreams event, whereby 10 popular female broadcasters will encourage their viewers to donate to the cause.

Since its launch in 2015, 1 DF has distributed $100,000 worth of micro-grants to help more than 100 high school and college students achieve their career and education goals. Applications are being taken with two deadlines Spring: March 30 Fall: November 2018
