It’s been another week of success for two Italian plumbers as Mario Maker 2 blocks off the number one spot in the UK Gaming charts this week.
Last time we updated the UK Gaming Chart, Mario Maker 2 had just debuted in the top ten at the top spot. Now, Nintendo’s plumbers turned builders are celebrating their third week at the top of this tower. Mario Maker 2 is the second iteration of Nintendo’s take on Little Big Planet. The game challenges fans of the Goomba busting platformer to get their hands in the toolbox and create their own 2D platformers. Like all great Mario games, it features all the franchises iconic characters and doesn’t seem to be budging, despite the obvious drop off after week one sales.

While Mario Maker 2 is hotly tailed by Crash Team Racing Nitro Fuelled in second place, this week has been good all round for the Japanese publisher and their mobile gaming platform. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is back up to the fifth spot and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wraps up the UK’s top ten for this week. Zelda Breath of the Wild even narrowly missed out on a place, finding itself in the basement level in the eleventh spot. Outside of the Nintendo domination, this week also found F1 2019 racing in at number three on launch and Sega’s Judgement following up at number four. With the recent announcement of the Switch Lite, I would expect Nintendo’s sales to just keep on creeping up in the future. Want the rest of the charts, check them out at Gfk here.
