When I hear the term roguelike and indie I instantly think pixel art, chip tunes and a quirky top-down aesthetic. Korean Developer Next Stage is set to change those expectations as they unleash Ultra Age upon the world next year.
Korean publisher Intragames, has been making moves into western markets recently with games like Survive! Mr Cube, but things are about to take a different turn as they bring Ultra Age to English speaking shores. Developed using the Unreal 4 engine, this action adventure chews up any assumptions you might have about indie adventures and spits out something that could easily be mistaken for something out of Platinum Studios.
Ultra Age is a single player adventure that puts you in the shoes of a hero who has to battle a wide range of huge enemies in an array of dungeons. The fast-paced action combat combines with a gorgeous aesthetic that has already captured attention in its home territory. While we don’t have much more information on this particular game it will be on show at the Tokyo Game Show very soon. If this has piqued your interest then you can check out more at the Korean publishers own website, or wait until we get some more information from its outing at TGS, soon.
