Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] Announced At Evo

During the excitement of this weekend’s Evo, Arc System Works and Aksys Games announced Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r], the latest iteration in the 2D fighting franchise.

It’s been quite the weekend in gaming. With Chinajoy and Evo both on, there’s been plenty happening and the publishers of 2D fighter Under Night In-Birth chose the EVO championships to announce a new game. Developed by French Bread is more than just a new tweak to the existing franchise. This new game introduces a new face to the mix. A cold warrior, Londrekia brings a range of ice abilities into the arena as he wiled a blade capable o cutting down even the most fearsome of opponents. With a brand new playable character in the mix, the entire game has undergone a rebalance. Nearly one thousand changes have been instituted for the latest title, including balance alterations and a host of new character moves.

“The 2D fighting community has been incredibly supportive, and we are as excited about this new chapter in the Under Night In-Birth series as they are,” says Akibo Shieh, founder and CEO of Aksys Games. “With the introduction of a new character, the entire game has been carefully rebalanced and perfected for the greatest possible anime fighting experience to date.”

For those of you who missed the news at EVO, the Under Night In-Birth franchise takes the 2D beat em up template and introduces a flamboyant anime fighting style that keeps this title from fading into the background. It follows the path of a special type of human who can perceive a mysterious phenomenon called the Hollow Night. As creatures spew out of this, you must fight off these Voids and anybody who gets in your way.

We don’t have a release date for Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] yet, but the last iteration in the series is available on steam right now. Head over to the Aksys Game’s official website for more details on Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] .
