Vagrus – The Riven Realms got a new combat update this week that could completely change this RPG.
Forget the Oregon Trail when you’re stuck in a dark fantasy world forsaken by the gods and you need to keep your travelling company alive. Thankfully, help may be at hand for players of this RPG. The cataclysm still occurred, but developer Lost Pilgrim Studio made a huge update to this Fig backed title and it could utterly change the way you play. Players taking charge of a party in Vargus will now find that players have plenty of new options for a variety of playstyle. While the tactics on offer are still the same, and you’ll need to work just as hard to beat your enemies in turn based combat, companion targeting has more flexibility. A recent update over on the official Steam Store details the add ons:
- Using keyboard only? Aside from picking a Skill with the keys ‘1-4’ (and ‘5’ for Move), you can use ‘Tab’ to switch between available targets, and ‘Space’ to confirm the action.
- Are you fine with mousing over stuff while resting your index finger? Hover over the target and trigger the skill from the keyboard without ever having to click with the mouse.
- Want to do away with having to confirm? Sure, attack like a pro without having to click twice by switching off confirm in the options.
Vagrus – The Riven Realms, which hit Steam Early Access this year, also got some extra visual enhancements with the latest update. That doesn’t mean extra particle effects, but players will notice more obvious ground targetting and visual queues about Move + Action Skills, among other updates. All in it should make the entire combat experience a whole lot more intuitive for backers of this hardcore fantasy RPG.
If you are considering picking up Vagrus – The Riven Realms, then you’ll want to prepare for an unforgiving sandbox RPG, where you explore a branching narrative in a scarred world. If you think you can pick a team, navigate bandits and weave a way through 10 warring factions then check out the official website for more details or head over to the Steam Store now to get ahead in Early Access.
