The developers from Riot Games continue introducing players to the special agents in the roster of the upcoming team-based shooter Valorant. Following the reveal of Phoenix, Viper and Sova, the team unveiled the gameplay of a new support character, Sage. The character uses a variety of spheres to slow down enemies, create walls to cut off parts of the battlefield and control the flow of combat and more. Don’t underestimate her battle prowess, however, or you will end up like the poor sods in the video below!
Valorant is an upcoming competitive 5v5 character-based tactical shooter that some have likened to what the offspring between Overwatch and Counter-strike Global Offensive might be like. Specifically, it is said to be “a free-to-play game of precise skill, high stakes, lethal gameplay, and clutch moments that rewards creative gameplay styles”. It pits two teams of five against one another with the action taking place across a number of rounds. Each player takes on the role of either an attacker or a defender that is part of “a diverse cast of hypernatural, battle-ready agents from real-world cultures and locations”. Each one has, of course, his or her own special set of abilities that can be used tactically to each team’s advantage.
The F2P game is expected to launch this summer. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it so stay tuned!
