Following the reveal of Phoenix and Viper, the developers from Riot Games have decided to introduce players to a new character coming to competitive FPS Valorant. Meet Sova (“Owl” in Russian), a sniper stalking the battlefield.
The short gameplay video demonstrates some of the character’s abilities such as the reconnaissance drone that can fire bolts to reveal enemies; echolocation arrow that marks enemies but can be destroyed.

Valorant is an upcoming competitive 5v5 character-based tactical shooter that some have likened to what the offspring between Overwatch and Counter-strike Global Offensive might be like. Specifically, it is said to be “a free-to-play game of precise skill, high stakes, lethal gameplay, and clutch moments that rewards creative gameplay styles”. It pits two teams of five against one another with the action taking place across a number of rounds. Each player takes on the role of either an attacker or a defender that is part of “a diverse cast of hypernatural, battle-ready agents from real-world cultures and locations”. Each one has, of course, his or her own special set of abilities that can be used tactically to each team’s advantage.
The F2P game is expected to launch this summer. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it so stay tuned!
