Virtual Pride Parade Coming to the SIMS Today!

The SIMS

As many already know, June is officially Pride Month in many places around the world. It is the annual celebration of the LBGTQ+ community and a time for reflection and solidarity. To that end, Maxis Games is bringing the first-ever Virtual Pride Parade to SIMS players around the world. The event will kick off today, June 15th, and run through June 30th.

This month, and every month, it is critical to support equality on all levels. The Sims™ is committed to creating the world as it should be, one that is kinder, more connected, and built on representation and freedom of expression. We believe diverse and inclusive worlds are better worlds, both virtual and real. Our community is full of wonderful, beautiful people from all over the planet, and The Sims 4 should reflect that—we wouldn’t have it any other way. We constantly and consciously strive to improve on that front. The Sims is a safe space for experimenting with your identity, relationships, and interests. We want this game to empower you to express yourself, explore the possibilities, and continue to play with life. The Sims team is proud to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community.”

To that end, players are invited to submit Sims Pride looks through social media and in The Gallery. Players need to simply use the hashtag #SimsPride2020 and their work may be included in The Sims Pride Celebration Event and group photo after the end of the event. Everyone is tasked with dressing up SIMS in their best Pride duds and “experiment with the new M-A-C makeup looks” before creating that perfect photo op. All submissions need to be uploaded by June 29th ahead of the June 30th Virtual Parade.
