It looks like this late September is going to be a great month for indie games. In between choosing my own adventure, it looks like Greg Lobanov’s Wandersong will be reaching us on 27 September.
Launching on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch Wandersong is an indie side-scrolling adventure that takes the unusual step of singing to save the world. Initially a Kickstarter campaign. Greg’s passion project managed to smash $21,00, back in 2016. Now opening night is upon us, players can enter a charming universe that seems to sit somewhere between Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, and a neon-flavoredEarthbound. In this world of myth and adventure players take the role of a silly bard and set out on an adventure to better understand the Earthsong. This powerful force might even be enough to save the universe.
While this sounds like a silly spin on a classic tale, Wandersong uses music to interact with the world. Players are able to sing to creatures and NPCs, each of which reacts in different ways to your particular melody. It’s an idea that certainly got my attention. If you are ready for the performance of your life, then you can rehearse by checking out the trailer below, or the official website for more details.
