Prepare to join legendary actor Andy Serkis and fight for the glory of the emperor when Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters Marches Into Battle On 5 May 2022.
Frontier Foundry and Complex Games just confirmed that the latest campaign in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is set to take on all comers w via the Steam and Epic Store when it arrives on PC. Legendary actor Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, the Planet of the Apes trilogy, The Batman) will take a lead role in the upcoming battle to rid the universe of Chaos. Playing as Vardan Kai, a Grand Master and Steward of the Armoury, he is due to see off players as they plunge a squad of genetically-enhanced Space Marines known as the Grey Knights into battle. A veteran of hundreds of campaigns, Grand Master Vardan Kai, voiced by Andy Serkis, will advise players from the Grey Knights’ citadel on Titan, responding to requisition requests for additional reinforcements, mastercrafted armour and weaponry to support their campaign. Andy Serkis seems pretty excited about the role too.
“Vardan Kai is a Grand Master, he is a very authoritarian leader, and he doesn’t suffer fools. He has a strong dislike for those he feels he can’t trust, and doesn’t show a lot of emotion, but throughout the game he’s building a ‘master and pupil’ relationship with the player. His personality will keep players on their toes.”
Acting as the front line of a push against Chaos and a galaxy-spanning daemonic plague, known as the Bloom, these Grey Knights will move from planet to planet choosing which systems endure and which must fall to cut back the Bloom.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is yet another combat-orientated spin-off from Warhammer’s tabletop title. Anybody daring to fight for the future of the universe will guide the Grey Knights through fast-paced and brutal ground combat missions, using high-precision tactics and environmental destruction to succeed. A huge range of enemies will block their path, from vile Plaguebearers to the towering Greater Daemons and Daemon Princes, while the Bloom will spread and mutate if left unchecked on inhabited worlds. This mix of established Warhammer 40,000 lore and a dynamic overworld makes for a new campaign that could very well overcome all but the most ferocious commanders.
