The Caligula Effect 2, the follow-up to the escapist RPG from NIS, just dropped its first trailer.
If you’re as excited for overdue JRPG returns as we are, then The Caligula Effect 2 has just dropped a sneak peek for this upcoming adventure. Starring a new band of misfits and a similarly warped reality as last time, the new latest Caligula Effect finds yet another group of runaways looking to break out of a virtual reality as part of the Go Home Club.
The brand new trailer for the second in this tale shows off a number of the central characters that make up the aforementioned Go Home Club. The character trailer details the player protagonist, as well as 8 other miscreants who aren’t willing to take their fate lying down. There’s also a glimpse of the game’s antagonists too. Players picking up this sequel will face-to-face against Regret and the Obbligato Musicians as they try to escape the world called Redo. Alongside this similarly themed follow up, the second Caligula Effect includes a bunch of graphical upgrades, optimizations, and hopefully a few more gameplay variations. While the original felt somewhat repetitive, this time around the Caligula Effect 2 might very well have the processing power to expand on its ideas when it arrives on Nintendo Switch and PS4 on 19 October 2021. You can check out the character trailer above and find out more about the world of Redo over on the official Caligula Effect 2 website.
