We Were Here Forever, a new follow up on the We Were Here series, is set to throw friends and enemies into a brand-new co-op adventure when it arrives on PC and Console later this year.
Set to step out into the unknown on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S during Q4 2021, the latest entry in the We Were Here series of adventure games has just been announced. Developed by Total Mayhem Games, We were Here Forever is the third major instalment in the franchise and will challenge players to make their way through a range of new environments and overcome a raft of challenges. Whether you and your colleagues are tiptoeing through a spooky graveyard or heading into previously unexplored areas of an abandoned castle, you will need to keep your wits about you.
Anybody who has already taken part in the We Were Here series will recognize this new instalment’s mix of communication and coordination. This time around, We Were Here Forever adds a new narrative, puzzles that you won’t solve with one pair of hands, and a completely new interface. No matter what, you and your friends will still need to keep your walkie-talkies handy as you take on the roles of Antarctic explorers who find themselves caught up in a mystery revolving around the realm of Castle Rock. Once separated, you’ll spend most of the game exploring where you can and tackling the asymmetric barriers that are in your way.
Managing Director Lucia de Visser says: “Our goal for We Were Here Forever is to further refine the cooperative gameplay people love so much from the series, designed for a new generation of hardware with a more immersive, darker, livelier Castle Rock. We Were Here Forever is a big step up for the We Were Here series. Furthermore, this game will bring some new insights into the mystery of Castle Rock. One cannot help but wonder what happened to those explorers who got left behind…”
If none of this really makes any sense to you, then the We Were Here Series is best seen to be understood. You can check out the trailer for this newly announced brain-teaser above and head over to the official We Were Here Forever Steam page to find out more about the title.
