Werewolf the Apocalypse – Earthblood Trailer

Publisher Nycon and Cyanide Studios have shared a couple of dev diary videos dedicated to the upcoming action RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood. With a few weeks until launch, the devs will walk you through what you can expect from the game, coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on February 4th. Preorder now to secure exclusive bonuses and an upgrade on certain systems.

The team shares its love for the World of Darkness. Based on the pen and paper role-playing game of the same name, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a project that intends on bringing the world of werewolves into your front room in an entirely new way. Previous reveals let us know a bit about the game’s plot:  the game follows the story of Cahal, a werewolf who has been exiled for years.

With his former Caern in danger, Cahal must return to a land he once called home to protect his family and friends, no matter the cost. With the evil corporation Endron besieging them from every side, only you can fight the corruption taking root within your home, using the devastating power of the Werewolf to turn the tide.

The second dev diary is dedicated to the essence of rage. Werewolves are complex creatures with a desire to protect but also imbued with devastating rage. the team explains what it’s like to be a Werewolf in the World of Darkness and how that manifests in Earthblood.

The protagonist of the game has access to the three various forms: the Homid form (human), the Lupus form (wolf) and the Crinos form, the Werewolf. Each form has its own advantages:

  • The human form can be used for anything related to social interaction, hacking computers, and stealth kills. You can quietly get the jump on enemies, perform silent takedowns, or pick off an enemy from afar with your crossbow.
  • The Lupus form grants Cahal speed and agility of the wolf. It will help you navigate through vents and move rapidly between cover to avoid being detected by the guards.
  • A Crinos is the ultimate combat machine, and if infiltration fails, it’s time to go big or go home.

Rage is the resource in the game that allows the Crinos to heal and use special attacks.
