What The Golf, the game that is absolutely definitely not about golf, is about to putter onto Steam on 22 October.
Driving out of the Triband clubhouse and set to land on Steam, What The Golf? Is the golf game for people who don’t like golf. This silly physics-based golf parody takes the crazy golf concept and turns it up to 18 with a mix of brilliant, humorous, and always inventive takes on hitting a small white ball with a stick. The Steam release of What The Golf? means that players who haven’t been able to pick it up on Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch or PC, via the Epic Games Store, can now grab it through Steam.
Get Out The Rough
Of course, after it’s initial 2019 debut, What The Golf? comes to Steam with more than a few extra clubs in its arsenal. The local two-player Party Mode (now playable online via Steam Remote Play Together) is new to this version of this knockabout and the Sporty Sports content update drops with the Steam version. There is also a very secret feature that will soon see the light of day.
While I sit here hoping that the secret feature add on is a VR option that will end up with something expensive getting wrecked in my front room, the team at Triband has dropped a demo onto Steam for anybody unsure about What The Golf? The demo will be available as part of the Steam game Festival: Autumn Edition. We were seriously impressed by this genre-bending number that plays with simple ideas to give an all-round entertaining experience, similar to Adult Swim Game’s Pool Panic. I’m off to dig my Switch out the bunker and check out more about What The Golf? over at the official website now
