World of Horror is about to bring the scares when it descends onto PlayStation 4|5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 19 October.
Developer Panstasz and publisher Ysbryd Games, are set to put the shivers up you later this year when its unsettling cosmic horror retro RPG World of Horrors comes to life. The two announced the incoming carnage today, confirming that this Early Access adventure will simultaneously reach version 1.0 for the spooky season. Players looking to pick up this new indie title will be able to grab it on digital storefronts, with PC gamers picking from PlayStation 5|4 and Nintendo Switch simultaneously alongside the PC 1.0 release via Steam, GOG, itch.io, and Microsoft Store,
If the monochrome and manga styled aesthetic doesn’t draw you in already, then maybe the setting is a bit more your thing. Heading out to the seaside town of Shiokawa, players will find themselves in an idyllic homestead full of quaint locals and Eldritch monstrosities. Between the lapping of the waves and the scenic views, you’ll face the Old Gods. Awake from their slumber, there’s not much that can stand in their way, and it’s a bad time for Humanity too. As the world around you spirals toward madness, you’ll investigate what’s coming, invoke dark rituals, pick apart the mystery of these ageless creatures, and halt them. Manage to navigate this hellish, roguelite reality through turn-based combat and unforgiving choices and you might actually succeed. Choose battle tactics wisely, as every decision can cause life, death, or madness. Explore every corner to uncover clues, collect helpful trinkets, and more along the way to reach the least harmful of multiple endings. If not, then you’ll be crushed under the weight of this chaotic change and possibly driven o the edge of sanity.
Sounds like a hoot for a weekend off. Over 20 curated mysteries and 14 playable characters await when World of Horrors gets its claws into October. Until then, head over to the Steam store to grab it while Early Access pricing is still available.
