World of Tanks Blitz Launches on Switch

Wargaming has announced that World of Tanks Blitz has officially launched as a free-to-play game on Nintendo Switch. The team-based tank game has been a mobile success for several years and it is the first time a WoT game has made the jump to Switch.

Blitz has been downloaded nearly 140 million times by players around the world. It is considered a team-based mobile tank fighting game. The Switch version features cross-play between players on all available platforms. All players share the same servers irrespective of platform that allows new players to “fight side-by-side or compete” against others in the “huge community”. The game is currently available on iOS, macOS, Android, Windows 10, and Steam.

Players that already have played Blitz on other platforms will find all of their progress retained including achievements, unlocked vehicles, and much more.

Those who start playing on Switch will be gifted 1000 gold, an exclusive avatar, 3-days of Premium game time, and a Tier II American Medium Tank. This tank will be available to claim from the in-game shop through September 9th.

“World of Tanks Blitz is the very first Wargaming title to launch on a Nintendo platform, unveiling its signature tank gameplay to even more gamers around the world,” said Andrey Ryabovol, Product Director of World of Tanks Blitz. “Launching on the Nintendo Switch is a perfect match for us, since the platform’s on-the-go gaming ability and impressive graphic fidelity fit the game’s playstyle and audience.”
