The final stress test for World of Warcraft Classic is underway with plans to run throughout the weekend. During the earliest hours of the stress testing, a mighty unusual thing happened when players formed a line so that everyone could complete a quest.
The video shows over 20 players standing in a queue in order to complete “Sarkoth’s Mangled Claw”. It requires that a specific creature be killed, an item to be collected and returned to the quest-giver.
“I thought I would die out here with none to know of it. While I was hunting the scorpids of the Valley, I came across a particularly vicious-looking one. Hurling myself at it, I managed to inflict a massive blow to its claw before it closed around my leg.
I wasn’t ready for its stinger though, and it sliced down and into my chest, cutting into my flesh and letting my blood. Please, you must kill the scorpid for me! My honor must be upheld! I fought it up on the plateau to the south.”
Being the Classic version of WoW, that means only one claw per kill can be looted, hence the line.
Viewers watching the stream were pleased with the community spirit the queue represents, something that players have long said about the “vanilla experience”.
“This is what I call a gamer community,” one person said. Others opined that such cooperation would never be seen on live servers.
World of Warcraft Classic will be launching on August 27th. Those with a live subscription can try out Classic via this weekend’s stress event. It’s currently open in all regions with players able to reach level 15 during the process.
