World of Warcraft – Shadowlands Coming November 23rd

After disappointing millions of fans by missing its original October release date, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that World of Warcraft – Shadowlands will be launching on November 23rd. The eighth WoW expansion sends players to the mysterious afterlife called the Shadowlands, “a realm of infinite afterlives where mortal souls go to find new purpose”. To celebrate the big news, Blizzard devs also released a story trailer that introduces the main antagonist as well as showcases some of the game’s most iconic characters including Sylvanas Windrunner, Tyrande Whisperwind, Sally Whitemane, Anduin Wrynn, and others.

Writing to the WoW community, Executive Producer John Hight said, “Since we first told you about our decision to delay, we’ve used the time to further polish the expansion and shore up the endgame, including overhauling the combat and rewards in the Maw, and reworking the Covenant systems to make your choice more immediately impactful and have clearer long-term goals. Now the team is in a great position to get things the rest of the way to the finish line before November 23—and as always, we’re committed to working with you to improve the game for as long as you’re out there playing it.”

To set the stage for the expansion’s launch, players will experience a “pre-event” starting November 10th when the Scourge invade Azeroth. Players will face off against the “death-born” to try to defeat them before they overtake the entire mortal world.
