Update: The Brazilian rating board site has been updated and now reflects PC as the only platform for WoW: Shadowlands.
Original Article: As noted by the hawk-eyed staff of Gematsu, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has been rated in Brazil for Xbox Series X.
While it could be a simple mistake, one of the things found by dataminers in early builds of Shadowlands was support for gamepads, allowing players to assign keybinds to them. Community Manager Kaivax addressed the discussion on the official forums with the following:
“For a long time, we’ve seen a small number of players turn to 3rd party addons, such as Console Port 574, in order to work through certain accessibility issues.
We always want to make WoW more widely accessible, if possible, so in Shadowlands, we’re attempting to add some support for keybinds, camera, and turning a character on controllers such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller.
We’re glad that the community has felt empowered to make addons tailored to specific needs like this, and we’re going to continue to encourage that as best we can.”
It is also not unlike Blizzard to deny or ignore something for a while, only to spring it on the community at a later point – look no further than official WoW Classic servers. How would you feel about WoW coming to console(s)?
Stay tuned to find out more!
