World of Warcraft Classic players will be able to reserve character names starting next week. The process will begin on August 12th and players can create up to three characters and reserve their names ahead of the August 27th release date of Classic.
The team has plans to reveal more about realm names and realm types (PvP, PvE, PvPRP, PvERP, etc.) later this week. This will ensure that players can coordinate with friends. “If there are high numbers of players congregating on individual realms during the name reservation/character creation process, we will post warnings about the potential for long queues on those realms, giving you time to choose alternate realms. Also please note: Character creation will be limited to only one faction per realm on PvP realms.”
There will be some restrictions once WoW Classic launches. These include a limit of 10 characters per Classic realm; a maximum of 50 characters across all Classic realms in a given region; and only one faction per realm on PvP realms.
