WoW Classic - Token Added in China, Upcoming Content on PTR

A variety of news is appearing for Blizzard’s WoW Classic including but not restricted to the addition of WoW Tokens for China region, Phase 4 Content available for testing on the Classic PTR & the date when it is coming to the live game client.

In a lengthy post on the official forums of the game, Blizzard has announced the addition of WoW Token to the Chinese version of WoW Classic. Already existing in the retail version of the game, the token allows you to exchange in-game gold for a token (the price changes dynamically with the economy of the region) that you can redeem to add 30 days of game time for your account. Wowhead has translated the original post into English:

We heard feedback from players saying that they want to buy game coins in a safe and legitimate manner, rather than through an unauthorized third-party gold exchange service-this is also one of the main reasons for problems with player accounts. We also learned that players who have obtained a lot of gold coins through the normal game flow also want to trade with other players in order to exchange game time and reduce their own recharge time. The “World of Warcraft” time badge feature allows both players to conduct transactions in a safe and straightforward manner. This also opens up a new payment option for World of Warcraft players, hoping that it will reduce problems with account numbers and improve the overall gaming experience.

Additionally, Blizzard has opened the Classic Test Realms (PTR) to receive feedback on Phase 4 content that includes Arathi Basin 15v15 battleground, Zul’Gurub and Dragons of Nightmare. The character copy feature is enabled so you can transfer your existing Classic character over to the PTR if you wish to participate in the testing and provide the team with your feedback.

For the live Classic servers. Arathi Basin will open on March 10th, with Zul’Gurub and Dragons of Nightmare in April 2020:

“With the WoW Classic PTR now open for business, we have a test environment where we can dig into some of the content that is coming soon to WoW Classic.

To be specific, our plan is to open Arathi Basin on all realms the week of March 10. At that time, we will also kick off the Battleground Holidays system.

We plan to open Zul’Gurub and release the fabled Dragons of Nightmare in April.

We’ll let you know as soon as we have an exact time that those content unlocks will occur.

Thank you!”
