Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the third week of alpha testing for World of Warcraft: The War Within has kicked off with a big update. Among other things, alpha testers will find a new level cap increase to 78, a new zone to explore alongside its storyline, the Warbands feature, new Hero Talents, and more. Let’s see what’s in store for the lucky few working with developers to ensure that The War Within is all that players hope it will be.
This week in The War Within Alpha Testing
- Level Range/Cap: 75-78
- Players who participated in the previous weeks’ builds will see their character(s), but it is advisable to create a new character using the creation template.
- Zones & Quests: Hallowfall
- Anduin Wrynn and Alleria Windrunner lead a contingent of soldiers into Hallowfall to support the Arathi’s war against the nerubians and hopefully gain some new allies in the process.
- Feature: Warbands (continued feature testing)
- The development team will be looking to test currency updates and achievement point application so multiple characters are needed to test these changes as well as any regarding the Warband system.
- Hero Talent Updates: Archon (Priest), Fel-Scarred (Demon Hunter)
- All Hero Talents from the first week’s build are still accessible for testing.
- Dungeon(s):
- The Dawnbreaker
- Priory of the Sacred Flame
- Dungeons can be accessed via the in-game Looking for Dungeon tool.
- Professions
- Inscription
- Tailoring
For those keeping track of features coming and going out of alpha testing, devs also announced that The Ringing Deeps zone will be exiting the testing process.
