Developer Blizzard Entertainment shared a new video in the Building Azeroth series for the upcoming chapter of World of Warcraft: Classic saga, welcoming players back to the icy wastelands of Northrend. The video is dedicated to the Wrath of the Lich King’s iconic hero class and the of building Death Knights.
Heroes of the mighty Horde and the noble Alliance can start the fight against the minions of the fallen prince Arthas Menethil on August 30. Once the pre-patch hits, WotLK Classic systems will go live. That includes character reworks and balancing, achievement system, new Inscription profession, updates to Orgrimmar and Stormwind and more.
Players will also have access to the first WoW Hero Class – Death Knights. Players will be able to create and level up their first Death Knight free from restrictions during pre-patch. According to Blizzard, additional Death Knights created beyond the first will follow the normal restrictions allowing for one per realm and requiring at least one level 55 character on the realm.
- September 6-13: Zombie Plague Event – A mysterious affliction will be making its way through the capital cities and players will need to be alert to avoid falling victim to its deadly effects
- September 13-launch: Scourge Invasion Events – In various locations throughout Azeroth, players will garner powerful rewards by coordinating a defensive stand against an attacking Necropolis and defeating Scourge forces on the ground level where crystals appear.
Following the fight against the Scourge minions on the territories of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, it is time to take the fight to Northrend. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic launches on September 26.
“The epic moments in Wrath of the Lich King Classic feature vast icy environments, unique dungeons and raids, and a gripping conclusion to the story of Prince Arthas,” said World of Warcraft executive producer Holly Longdale. “All of this and more made it a favorite of many of our players and us at Blizzard as well. We’re looking forward to providing an authentic experience for returning veterans and an awesome adventure for newcomers exploring Azeroth for the first time.”
