WRC 9 Introduces the FIA Rally Star Selection Program

Nacon, the KT Racing Studio, and FIA have announced that the latest WRC 9 DLC is now available. The DLC contains a new competitive game mode made in collaboration with FIA that will be instrumental in finding future real-world rally drivers.

From February to August 2021, players will be able to take part in a dozen online trials “to select the most promising drivers in the game. During the first phase of the competition, players ranging from 17-26 years old will be able to take part using the M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally3 vehicle. “The winners of each of the 12 trials will qualify for one of the six continental finals.”

Once the trials are complete, the seven continental winners will be sent off to FIA training and practice programs. The best of the seven will be enrolled in the next two seasons in the FIA Junior WRC.

The new level of realism in WRC 9 gives us the opportunity to propose this challenge to all of the sport’s fans around the world,” said Jérôme Roussel, FIA program manager. “The next Sébastien Loeb, Ott Tänak, or Sébastien Ogier may well already be practicing on their console or PC! We just need to find them!”

The DLC includes:

  • Japan, New Zealand, and Kenya rallies
  • 50 official teams
  • 15 bonus cars
  • Clubs mode

The game is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
