Wuthering Waves 2.0 launches today, and PlayStation 5 owners can log in too.
Kuro Games launched big budget free-to-play gacha adventure Wuthering Waves into a brand new adventure today. Version 2.0 kicks off today and brings the PlayStation 5 to the party too. After initially launching on PC and mobile platforms, the adventure continues on console, including content from the game’s previous updates, a new continent, and a seamless gaming experience across platforms.
Announced during December, the second major update to Wuthering Waves is one worth checking out. A new continent awaits. The land of Rinascita plays host to a total of eight areas, two new resonators, a new storyline, and a ton of other skins, gameplay changes, quality-of-life features, loot, and objectives. Rinascita is a nation of independent city-states. Rinascita has earned the name of the “Land of Echoes”, due to its unique and widespread use of Echoes. Here, Echoes are everywhere—your boat ride, bank tellers, and even street performers might all be Echoes.
Catching Up
If you own a PlayStation 5 and this all sounds a little confusing, don’t worry. The PS5 launch adds a main story Shortcut feature, designed to help both new and returning players dive right into the new content of Version 2.0. Complete specific quest notes early in the game, and players will unlock direct access to the latest storylines and areas, and hopefully have some idea whats going on without having to explore every corner of the early content. Once You make it to the new continent, expect lots to see and do. The city-states of this region begin in the port city of Ragunna, a bustling conclave of humanity, filled with art, religion, and performance. It’s a wonderful introduction to a new region and a perfect jumping-off point before heading out into the Whisperwind Haven, exploring the ruins of the Hallowed Rach, or scaling the treacherous Thessaleo Fells.
Characters
You’ll find yourself joined by two new characters during this launch. Carlotta, the second daughter of the Montelli family, and Roccia join us. In version 2.0, Roccia from the Fool’s Troupe takes center stage in the main story. Her role in the Fool’s Troupe is as an improvisational comedian, blending high-level performance with combat. She could summon small tornados when unleashing her Resonance Skill that pull enemies from all directions creating opportunities for her allies during battle.
Carlotta is a Glacio 5-Star Resonator who wields dual pistols. When designing this character we’ve built a general image based on her personality and the core element—gems. As the second daughter of the esteemed Montelli family Carlotta is matched by a sense of elegance
