When XCOM 2 expands on August 29th, it will be with The War of the Chosen. The announcement came as part of this week’s E3 convention in Los Angeles.
XCOM 2 Expands with new Heroes & Enemies
When The War of the Chosen arrives, it will continue the original story. This time, however, a new enemy has come to take the Commander. The game will feature three new Chosen commanders that change and evolve based on the player’s actions. These commanders can be countered by all new playable Hero classes including the Reaper and the Skirmisher.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen greatly expands upon the XCOM 2 campaign by adding three new resistance factions, each with its own Hero class, to aid XCOM in its fight to liberate Earth. ADVENT, in its bid to recapture the Commander, responds by deploying a deadly new enemy force called the “Chosen.” The expansion also includes other new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.
