2K and Firaxis have announced that XCOM 2 has expanded with War of the Chosen. The new content is available today on PC and on September 12th for PS4 and XB1.
XCOM 2 War of the Chosen
You’ll find a lot of new content and features in War of the Chosen. For instance, The Chosen are new ADVENT foes whose only job is to capture the Commander. They can “kidnap, interrogate and kill” XCOM forces. You’ll face off against three different types including The Hunter, The Warlock and The Assassin.
In addition, there are new faction allies that help take some of the sting out of The Chosen’s attacks. The Spectre and the Purifier will put down a world of hurt. Three additional factions have emerged to strengthen Earth’s resistance – the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars – each with its own unique abilities and contrasting philosophies. These factions provide powerful hero class soldiers to aid in missions and new opportunities for the strategy layer.
Other features include:
- create and save “meme worthy” posters of your soldiers
- tactical missions in abandoned cities, the wilderness and underground
- management of covert actions, resistance orders and more
- more customization and replayability than ever
- challenge mode with unique missions outside the campaign to earn a place on global leaderboards
