We always knew that coming soon meant sometime in 2019 for Playtonic but it looks like we now know how much longer we will have to hold on until we can get back into game and take on this new adventure.
Generally accepted as the spiritual successor to the cult classic Banjo-Kazooie, the original Yooka-Laylee was a love letter to classic platforming games, warts and all. The second of these was announced back around June this year and takes players on an adventure to save Queen Phobee’s Royal Beetalion Guard. As both Yooka and Laylee traverse a bright 2.5D set of levels the impossible lair will set them against a range of Capital B’s more dastardly challenges. The gameplay does seem to take clear inspiration fro Donkey Kong Country with contributions from many of the DK dev team. new adventure and includes a number of interesting twists. Featuring altered state levels, a 3D overworld, and a soundtrack that Playtonic has already branded s “something special” Yooka-Laylee is likely to be a game that will thrill fans of the genre as a whole.
If you want to keep up with the shenanigans over at Playtonic and enjoy unreasonable out of DK memes then you can check out more about Yooka-Laylee over at the official twitter account.
