Yooka-Laylee is about to make a comeback with Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. Now, Team 17 has dropped a brand new trailer for this upcoming adventure and it is game changing.
While the internet has been a-buzz with anticipation since the initial announcement of this new Yooka-Laylee game, it seems that UK developer Playtonic has been a busy bee. The latest trailer for the second game in the Yooka franchise finds players in a bid to rescue members of Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion from Capital B. As players progress through a charming 3D overworld and 20 different 2.5D levels they will find a range of royal guards to rescue. Except, this time things won’t always play the way you expect.
As well as aiding a different member of the Royal Beettalion, players can actively impact each of the game’s levels. As our heroic protagonists take a trip through the 3D overworld, they can unlock new secrets and puzzles. Each of these dynamically impacts the platforming experience by hooking up electricity, flooding chapters with running water or literally flip them upside down. With every unlock, Yooka-Laylee can stretch out to as many as 40 levels in total.
Yooka-Laylee first set out on an adventure back in 2017 after a massively successful Kickstarter campaign. Despite some mixed reception, it was hailed as a spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie series in so many ways. While Yooka and Laylee have also managed a brief appearance in Brawlout since then, this is their next big adventure and we can’t wait to see what it brings when the duo step out onto Pc, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If you are as excited as we are, wing your way over to the official website for more details on this endeavor.
