On January 2nd we posted about the appalling video created by Logan Paul on Youtube.
Youtube finally responded on Twitter yesterday, one week later:
An open letter to our community:
Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently. You’re right to be. You deserve to know what’s going on.
— YouTube (@YouTube) January 9, 2018
Like many others, we were upset by the video that was shared last week.

Suicide is not a joke, nor should it ever be a driving force for views. As Anna Akana put it perfectly: “That body was a person someone loved. You do not walk into a suicide forest with a camera and claim mental health awareness.”

We expect more of the creators who build their community on @YouTube, as we’re sure you do too. The channel violated our community guidelines, we acted accordingly, and we are looking at further consequences.

It’s taken us a long time to respond, but we’ve been listening to everything you’ve been saying. We know that the actions of one creator can affect the entire community, so we’ll have more to share soon on steps we’re taking to ensure a video like this is never circulated again.

Timing aside on how long it has taken Youtube to respond, we can appreciate that there will be consequences but we are still left wondering how severe these consequences will be.
On the same day Youtube responds UK based Radio Times also published “the greatest children’s show of all time,” compiled with 30 panelists putting a spotlight on how much children’s tv has not grown in the past decade as many turn to Youtube. This article at The Guardian details a multitude of facts and observation that include the Paul brothers while reminding us that it was Logan Paul that removed his violating video, not Youtube.
We will keep readers updated on the outcome once Youtube decide or are we pretty confident Logan Paul’s channel will not be closed for such a disgraceful and horrifying stunt for publicity?
