MMOCulture is reporting that a new mobile game placed in the Ys series is in development. Called brilliantly “Ys Mobile”, the game is based on the Nihon Falcom IP and being developed by ChangYou.
You won’t find many details out in the wild yet. What we do know is that the game will be a classic JRPG and that it will “stay true to the series”. You’ll take part in the adventure as Adol Christin as he explores the game world including ancient ruins and other locations. In addition, game play will feature a simple 4-step command system. You’ll be able to Run, Jump, Swing Sword and Cast Spell. Lastly, developers are promising that the game will keep its JRPG flair in both visual and audio design.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
If you need a Ys fix, you might want to check out the recently released Ys VIII: The Lacrimosa of Dana. We scored it a healthy 9/10. Here’s what we had to say:
Ys VIII the Lacrimosa of Dana is an interesting addition to the JRPG series. It offers a fun and engaging game from top to bottom. No matter if you have played the other Ys games before or not, this is a game you shouldn’t pass up.
