Zenless Zone Zero, the new action anime title from HoYoverse, looks like it’s getting some big news on 4 November 2023.
The developer behind the absolutely anime inspired phenomenon Genshin Impact has just teased that something is coming tomorrow, but we don’t know exactly what yet. Fans eager to see more of New Eridu and try out Zenless Zone Zero might be a little closer, thanks to a cryptic news post on the upcoming game’s official website. While a post without any specific detail might not mean much, we’re going to be on the lookout thanks to a last minute date and time etched into the end of that animation. The news is the first sign of life we’ve seen since our positive play through at Gamescom 2023, and it simply says:
En-nha? Eh-ne-nah-nuh !
A short video, in a similar style to previous promotional snippets, shows some adorable characters and the date 2023/11/4 12:00 UTC+8.
We’re convinced this will be big news, based on the date, and the slow pacing of information. The news has sent the fanbase into a social media frenzy, and hype is only worth generating if you deliver. Outside of closed tuning tests and previews during this year’s convention season, this action brawler hasn’t had much player hands on, so we’re leaning towards something akin to a testing phase or a release date. A recent confirmation that the title now has a licence in China means we would tend to expect a firm release window to be in place for 2024.
For those that haven’t heard of Zenless Zone Zero, there’s still time to check out this very different instanced action title from HoYoverse. Set in a world where portals intersect an urban sprawl and monsters can be defeated by a special breed of human, it’s very much the Otaku action adventure I’ve wanted for some time.
