Today’s Zenless Zone Zero Pre-Release Special Program from the team at HoYoverse just put a ton of new content on the menu for the launch of this action RPG.
HoYoverse are back, bringing a look at new content coming to the launch of Zenless Zone Zero. The free to play action-oriented RPG has already established that players can expect a wild combat experience and a stylized anime urban environment, but there are plenty of new ideas coming too. The recently wrapped Pre-Release Special Program kicked off with a look at a new music video that sets the atmosphere for the incoming action.
Incoming Action
Hosted by Dawei and game producer Zhenyu, the stream opens up into a combat focused introduction to an Etheral infested wasteland full of vibrant character and an introduction to the narrative behind Hoyo’s latest. There’s a run-down on how different agent organizations work and why Proxies would ever venture into harm’s way. If you want to get an idea on why giant tears in reality are such a danger to this near future city sprawl, then check out the video or the recent introduction to Hollows.
The new teaser introduces new faces, toils over the combat mechanics, and says hello to some of New Eridu’s resident’s outside of the Hollows. You’ll see the expanded backstreets of the city, some of the activities available, and a social interaction with agent Shu Yuan. If you ever get lost along the way, there’s even an adorable Officer Mewmew to guide you around the maze of footpaths.
Aside from the expanded gameplay systems, Bangboos are confirmed to be genuinely overhauled from our early impressions. Since Gamescom 2023, the little critters now make more of an impact, are more varied, and provide enhanced player choice. Random looting is largely eliminated from these in action companions, and the little critters can be picked to best suit your playstyle. They also shouldn’t cost premium currency. This is incredibly useful for the Hollow Zero game mode that gives users new challenges, made up of a range of scenarios. These seem to be akin to Star Rail Memories, giving Proxies plenty of different customization, huge boss encounters, and variable paths through the action.
This barely touches the surface, and there’s plenty of time to catch up with the Zenless Zone Zero Pre-Release Special Program Before full launch across PC, PlayStation, and mobile on July 4. Check out more on the official website. Additionally, the developers have shared some pretty bombastic news about the release rewards: prepare to claim a 100 free pulls + 80 Boopons!
