Our keen-eyed friends over at GameReactor have pieced together some clues regarding the filming of the long promised, live action television Halo mini-series. These clues suggest that the mini-series will begin filming in the fall of 2018.
It has been way too long since we have heard any whispers of content from the beloved Halo franchise. Created by Bungie and placed in the continuing care and development of 343 Industries, Halo has a storied history, rich for retelling.
In 2013, 343 Industries announced that it would be Steven Spielberg and Showtime that would that would carry the project forward. While this release was intended to coincide with the release of Halo 5: Guardians, it never did get off the ground.
While it would seen like the project had faded into obscurity, president of programming at Showtime, Gary Levine said that Halo: “is absolutely still in development, still moving forward and I’m encouraged by what we’ve seen so far… It’s still live action, and it will definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and I think also satisfy the drama audiences of Showtime.”
What do you think of these rumors? Will we get a live action series worthy of the Master Chief’s legacy? How about this one: could 343 Industries be planning a main series title to coincide with the live action series instead of the other way around?
Let us know what you think in the comments below.
