Valorant, the competitive hero title from Riot, has unveiled plans for an imminent Valorant Premier Alpha Test.
For gamers that are looking to take their skills to the next level, next week marks the start of something special in Valorant. The relatively young arena experience from Riot is about to unlock a new in-game feature called Premier. Next week an alpha testing phase will begin, allowing eager competitors to build a team and compete across a season of pre-scheduled matches.
This new twist on Valorant’s current setup, players will be able to create or join a team of five friends or barely acquaintances to battle for glory against teams of a similar skill level. Once you’ve built a roster of capable players the Premier game mode will place each team into a division. From here you’ll play through a season, made up of weekly matches and tournaments. This automated season runs over the course of a few weeks and feeds into an end of season battle for the title of Division Champion.
Premier isn’t even nearly complete, however. Riot describes it as having:
“60% of all the planned features and functionally, but there are whole features that are absent in the current Alpha.”
While that might be the case, it gives everyone interested in contributing to the future development of Valorant a chance to test their mettle in a new way. If you want to help break network balance, feedback on balance, matchmaking, and more then head over to the official Valorant website to find out more.
For those that haven’t picked their perfect class yet, then you’ve got time to master Riot’s free to 5v5 hero shooter. The new Valorant Premier mode doesn’t have a release date yet. Right, we’re off to try out the latest update to Episode 5 while we wait.
