EA could be creating Skynet… sort of

EA is hard at work researching their wait to Skynet’s grand take over, or at least developing some seriously interesting AI advancements. One of their R&D teams, Search for Extraordinary Experiences Division (SEED) has been building an AI that has learned to play Battlefield One’s Multiplayer through a trial and error. The team essentially created a neural network that all of the ‘agents’ are linked to that allows for AI learning and sharing of experience.

The AI is still in the learning stages of the experiment and does get confused from time to time as seen in the video below. The AI has also been assisted by ammo and health crates placed in the world to help with the learning experience. Interestingly everything seen in the video is a result of trial and error experiences which is a pretty impressive development in the world of gaming AI. Overall it’s a pretty incredible feat and can potentially open some interesting new avenues for interactive entertainment moving forward.  Be sure to check out the video below or head over to their official information page for more.
