The year-long Dark Heart Of Skyrim adventure kicked off a couple of weeks ago with the launch of the Harrowstorm DLC and we’re closing in on the June 2 release of the first story chapter, The Elder Scrolls: Greymoor. To Celebrate ESO turning 6 years old this week developer Zenimax is giving fans of the long-running MMORPG a pile of goodies.
First up, there is a new Greymoor Story Trailer available for dissection. Building upon the first trailer, more details of the evil engulfing the Nord homeland and threatening Western Skyrim are revealed. If a story trailer isn’t enough to satiate your thirst, all ESO players will be able to participate in the free Greymoor Prologue quest which becomes available at 10:00 AM EDT today! The new quest will plunge players into the depts of Blackreach as they attempt to unravel the sinister plans of the Icereach Coven. The prologue is free for everyone and will advance the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline to the beginning of the Greymoor chapter.
Once the Prologue is open, use the free Quest Starter, titled “Prologue Quest: The Coven Conspiracy”, from the in-game Crown Store. Players must then travel to the Fighter’s Guild in Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, or Vulkhel Guard (depending on their Alliance) and speak with fan-favorite Lyris Titanborn to accept the first of two quests, titled “The Coven Conspiracy”.
The prologue will also be available to any new players wishing to take advantage of an ESO Free Play Event from Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00 AM EDT through Monday, April 13. To participate in the free play event, new players can download the Base Game on PC/Mac through the ESO Launcher. Xbox One (Xbox Live Gold required) and PlayStation 4 can download the Base Game from their respective storefronts. Note: Steam’s Free Play Event will run from April 1-April 6.
The ESO birthday party will continue with bonus XP, special rewards, and cake during the Anniversary Jubilee event! The in-game event begins Thursday, April 2 at 10:00 AM EDT, and runs until Tuesday, April 14 at 10:00 AM EDT. You can get all the details on the ESO blog post. GameSpace was also given access to a Greymoor on-hands preview last week so be sure to check out our first impressions.
