10 Cheap Stocking Stuffers For PC Gamers

The Best Gifts Aren't Always The Expensive Ones

Last week we explored some of the hottest games for this holiday season. Now Christmas is almost upon us and hopefully, you have most of your shopping done, but if you’re like me there is always that last-minute stocking stuffer or gift left to buy. Low on funds, even lower on ideas, and completely out of patience to deal with crowds, it’s time to head into the digital world to find that last-minute treasure. Fortunately for you, I’ve scoured the virtual bargain bins and found a few cheap options (under $10!) that would make fantastic stocking stuffers for PC gamers. I even found some free DIY Christmas coupons that will turn your virtual gift into something you can actually put in their stocking.

Diner Bros

Steam $9.99

This one is on here because my daughter said she would disown me if I didn’t include it. Diner Bros is a cooking game that packs a little less spice than the wild antics of the Overcooked series. If you are looking for a good party game that the whole family can enjoy, Diner Bros needs to find its way into your kid’s stocking.

TIS-100

GOG $3.49, Steam $6.99

TIS-100 is an open-ended programming game by Zachtronics, the creators of SpaceChem and Infinifactory, in which you rewrite corrupted code segments to repair the TIS-100 and unlock its secrets. It’s the assembly language programming game you never asked for!

Reigns

Apple Store/Google Play $2.99, GOG $1.49, Steam $2.99

Technically available on PC, Reigns is on this list because even PC gamers will find themselves playing a mobile game every now and then. I cycle through mobile games so fast they are barely downloaded before I am on to the next one. All of them, that is, besides Reigns. You sit upon the throne of your kingdom whimsically responding yea or nay to the request brought before you with the simple flick left or right. Each decision has an impact, though, and a few bad choices can lead to the need for a successor to the throne via a knife in your back.

Black Desert Online

Steam $9.99

It’s hard to find a good MMORPG these days, but you can pick up Black Desert Online for less than 10 bucks. BDO found its way into our 10 Best MMORPGs to play in 2019 and looks to remain a solid contender in 2020. It’s nearing three years old but its graphics and action combat has stood the test of time.

Pacify

Steam $4.99

We highlighted Pacify in one of our horror game roundups a couple of months ago. If The Nightmare Before Christmas is more your style than Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, then this scary little gem is a better option than the lump of coal you were planning on getting.

Door In The Woods

Steam $9.99

If the gamer in your life is hard to shop for because they yearn for the “olden days when games were good,” then Door In The Woods could be the perfect gift. I’m not talking retro graphics or iconic franchise figureheads here. No, I’m talking going all the way back to ASCII graphics (don’t worry, us old gamers know what that means). Door In The Woods released just a few weeks ago and is a wonderful addition to the classic rogue-like genre.

FTL: Faster Than Light

Steam $9.99

In FTL, you take command of a starship and head out into the great void. With each playthrough, you must formulate a strategy to deal with the many encounters you face. Whether you focus on diplomacy or might, you must always use your wits or face destruction.

60 Seconds! Reatomized

Steam $9.99

The apocalypse is upon us, and with only 60 seconds before the bombs hit you must gather supplies and get them to your shelter. What do you take and what will you leave behind? Choose wisely and you may survive more than a day or two.

Portal 2

Steam $9.99

It’s an oldie but a goody. Providing hours upon hours of puzzles sure to enrage even the most docile gamer, Portal 2 expands upon the original and even adds a co-op mode.

Terraria

Steam – $9.99

Not quite as obscure as some of the other titles on this list, make sure your gamer doesn’t already have Terraria before dropping it into their stocking. This 2D side-scroller is proof that gameplay will trump beautiful graphics and huge open worlds every time.
